Truffle hunt

Truffle hunting has become a popular activity at the Risung mansion on Gotland, an island in the Baltic Sea. These rare fungi are highly prized in culinary circles for their unique aroma and ability to enhance a wide range of dishes.
From October to November, hunters search for truffles using specially trained dogs or pigs. These fungi are typically found near the roots of trees, making the hunt both a skillful and exciting outdoor experience.
Once harvested, truffles are valued for their ability to add depth and flavor, especially to dairy-based dishes, making them a treasured ingredient in Swedish kitchens.
