Reindeer sledding offers a peaceful and traditional way to explore the winter landscapes of northern Sweden. Guided by experienced Sami handlers, these journeys give visitors a chance to travel quietly across snowy forests and open plains while learning about one of the oldest forms of winter transportation in the region. The gentle pace of the reindeer and the calm surroundings create a memorable and authentic experience.

Around 20 000 Sami live in Sweden today, preserving their own language, cultural traditions, symbols and parliamentary representation. As interest in local culture grows, eco-tourism has become an important form of income for many Sami communities. It allows them to share their heritage while protecting the environment and maintaining sustainable practices.

Companies such as Nutti Sámi Siida offer meaningful cultural encounters that may include reindeer sled tours, northern lights excursions and opportunities to learn more about Sami life. These activities give visitors a deeper understanding of the connection between the Sami people, the land and their traditional way of living.
